Makhana Processing Unit

The Makhana Processing Unit at ICAR–National Research Centre for Makhana (NRCM), Darbhanga serves as a dedicated facility for developing and demonstrating modern processing technologies for makhana. The unit focuses on improving post-harvest operations, enhancing product quality, reducing processing losses, and promoting value addition through scientific methods. It also supports training, research, and entrepreneurship development, enabling farmers, processors, and agri-entrepreneurs to adopt efficient processing techniques and strengthen the makhana value chain.
